HSSB CD Files

The Hannaford Street Silver Band recordings are being recognized internationally, gaining positive reviews not only in Canada but in the United States and England as well. Writing in the US based Journal of the North American Brass Band Association, record reviewer Ron Holz wrote...

"The HSSB has developed into a marvelous group with a style and sound to be emulated by our NABBA bands. They seem to take the best of the British brass band - beautiful blend, technical brilliance, rhythmic precision, lyrical expression - with out also embracing some of the negatives - excessive vibrato both in solo passages and tutti sections, overblowing by both the full ensemble and individual players. Their cornet sound might be a bit bright for some purists, but in all areas of sound and blend this band gets better with every recording. "
