About the Hannaford Junior
Band
Anita McAlister, Conductor
The Hannaford Junior Band made its first appearance in January, 2005.
Aimed at beginning brass players
with 1-2 years experience, the Hannaford Junior Band members will participate
in rehearsals, festivals, clinics and concerts in a variety of venues. This ensemble is a fun way to learn brass skills and enjoy music making in a relaxed, but stimulating environment.
Some of the exciting upcoming 2010/2011 events we have planned for this group so far are:

- Christmas Concert on Sat. Dec. 11, 2:00pm at The Church of The Redeemer
Guests: Cawthra Park S.S. Chamber Choir Director, Bob Anderson
- Valentines concert Bouquet of Brass on Sat. Feb. 12, 2:00pm at
The Church of The Redeemer
- Festival of Brass "Rising Stars" - Fri. April 15, 7:30pm at
The Jane Mallett Theatre, St. Lawrence Centre
Guests: U of T Tuba Ensemble, Sal Fratia, conductor
- Final Concert - Sat. May 14, 2:00pm at The Church of The Redeemer
Guest soloist: Gordon Wolfe, Principal Trombone, Toronto Symphony
- Canada's Paramount Wonderland Music Festival where we will spend a full day
at the park, May, dateTBA
