Fiona Miller trained as an academic, completing a PhD in political science at the University of Toronto. She taught political science, with an emphasis on political philosophy, at various US universities - Duke, Colgate, Arkansas State - before returning to Toronto and teaching for a number of years at the University of Toronto at Mississauga.  While Fiona maintains an interest in politics, her most recent loves lie in the worlds of community club tennis and music.​
